It seemed to capture the nuanced feel of the Gallic approach to all things militaristic. Oh, sure, it had nothing on the real thing -deGaulle in Montreal starting a mini-revolt of the oppressed peasants- but still, it highlighted the importance of a decent fois gras properly paired with a dry-ish Neuchatel before sending the hapless grunts to the firing squad.
