While that in itself is reasonable enough, the fact remains that if Council already doesn`t like you, there`s no chance they will appoint you to a committee in the first place, thus denying you the opportunity to prove yourself to the community.<br /><br />I know there are people with expertise I would like to see working on town committees who have been denied the chance because of public positions they have taken, and just simply who they are.
