No. That's called 'fireproofing'. Fireproofing is when you disguise all the other not-so-nice stuff you do with a motherhood initiative that the simple minded ooh-n-ahh at as if it was the ONLY initiative your organization engaged in.

Nobody is saying Rotarians don't do some good things along the way, but they wield a little too much power in the communities they operate in for my taste.

Many people are excluded from public participation because they don't fit the mold, and Rotarians and their ilk are the first ones to deliberately push them away.

I'm sure many of them don't even know they do that, but the big guys who run everything sure know it, and relish the experience.

Is there some chance this right wing Rotarian loving anonymous is our union hater too? Just wondering...

Fossils are dead nouns, whereas the electorate are living verbs.

Dead nouns in a river might impede the flow of verbs for the short term, but verbs have a way of seeping, of overflowing, overthrowing, setting up a new normal.

Gee, I guess I missed it. When did the Dutch Oven Conservative Cronies elect an executive committee and invite interested parties to join? When did (you'll have to excuse my little editorial outbursts) those dreary old right-wing Rotarian, self-serving farts ever try to 'save' anything except maybe their own tax money from falling into the hands of the government? I guess if we support the "pier group" concept in Port Hope then we shouldn't throw stones at the Dutch Oven "senate" in Cobourg. Both seek to drive their own political agendas.
