I am sure it will all be worked out, but what bothers me is the political posturing that seems to be such a big part of doing business with governments these days.

Watching Newsworld last night the commentators were wringing their hands about whether Obama's quick visit to Canada is a snub or not. Rex Murphy was carrying on about how Canadians wanted a chance to rally at the Capital by the thousands and hear him speak etc etc, as if the sole purpose of a state visit was to put on a dog and pony show. Surely the reason for the visit is to solidify relations between the two countries, not entertain the masses.

Let's just get on with it.

I don't think our present government has the guts, leadership quality or statesmanship ability, to stand up to the US over much of anything. Beef and softwood lumber come to mind. As for our energy, the US only WANT what we have. When they NEED it they will just come and get it!
