Biron and HIS board members have a major trick up their collective sleeves for those 3 new members ( Patchett,Farren,Morand) who think they are getting on HIS board at the AGM. Think again...

For the Patchett Group they better hire a good Toronto attorney who knows about board governance and board constituions. Or they are all just whistling dixie!

Wake up stop having absolutely useless public wankfests for the same converted. You didn't stop the bed closures the LHINS did as there were no takers to build any.

As a matter of fact, I am one of the panel speakers at tonight's meeting at the Best Western, and I have a list of recommendations for a better hospital and board that I will present there.

I too am focused on viable solutions. Our hospital is a lynchpin in our community and the stakes are high for all of us.

One can't help but conclude that for Deb O its more about the fight than the objective. What else can explain her response to the first comment, especially in light of the sentence "What has to be done at this point to prevent such a scenario?"

Without plans B and C, these groups will simply flounder as the administrators continue to pursue their objectives. Roadblocks are pointless in this struggle. The strategy has to be to address the factors underlying their ultimate objective, not their workplan.

Trouble is, Deb O's reaction plays right into the hands of the administrators by keeping her focused on the skirmish and not the war. (Hell, we won't be steamrollered - ok, but you will get outflanked because you offer no viable alternative solution to the dilemma facing us.)

Now if Deb O thinks that is "defending" the establishment, she's well off target.

He/she is using the same thinking as Biron in asserting that the way to prevent destruction is to destroy things yourself first. Reminds me of the Iraqis burning up their own oil fields so the Americans couldn't have them.

If the anti-cuts groups win, what will be the effects on our hospital's future in the months and years to come? It seems quite certain to me that the administrators will not simply let things die. The next salvo could be more devastating than this proposal and definitely less vulnerable to such organized opposition. What has to be done at this point to prevent such a scenario?
