I was inspired to write my issue after reading your column and decided that chauvinism is a apt comment and should be explored. I met a former councillor on the street yesterday and he told me that he was appalled by the comments that emanated from the 'good ol' boys, the leader included, in the back room about some of the delegations that appeared before them. I can only guess what the conversation would be like in the sanctity of the mayor's office most Friday afternoons when the boys get to BS about the upcoming Council meeting.

This fits nicely with my comments in my column this week. These guys can't begin to get it right. Ben is spot on and I think this is a gender issue. Look at how they marginalized people like Pam Jackson, Johanna Loken, and just about any female that comes before them. It is a disgrace, not just politically, but morally, as well.

This should be a wake up call for all the "post feminists" who think the battle was won a long time ago, and that women now enjoy equality and respect.

What is shocking is how few are rising to defend our planning
co-ordinator. The old guard should be ashamed of themselves, but they seem to be impervious to any insight into their own behaviour.

Maybe the citizens of Cobourg will have to stand up together, and in a loud voice, condemn them and demand they show some respect.

But you know, the way they treat Ms. Mutton is the way they have treated the citizens all these years and it's time this childish behaviour stopped. These boys need to grow up.
