I thought this blog was a place where people could express their opinions, and that respondents would reply with their own opinions, not derisive and unpleasant personal attacks.

I object most strongly to being called "a reptile with a belly dragging along the ground". Where does that fit into a respectful exchange of opinions? What contribution does that statement make to the discussion?

Mr. Keeler should refrain from making offensive personal comments and concentrate instead on making his point.

If he is unwilling to observe basic courtesies such as that, then Mr. Burd should refuse to post Mr. Keeler's opinions. If not, he will find himself with no other readers and posters besides Mr. Keeler. The rest of us won't waste our precious time on this otherwise.

The Canadian people from coast to coast, throughout electoral history have been consistent in their rejection of placing self-righteous, "progressives" (who don't speak white) into power. The NDP has no moral scruples about obtaining power when they gleefully get into a lip-lock with those whose prime directive is the dissolution of Canada. That is cynicism and the NDP has clearly demonstrated that they are no better than the Conservatives or Libs.

Get it straight -- Canadians do not support the Bloc. It is anti-Canadians who support the Bloc. And dipstickers will cram their "progressive" policies down the throats of Canadians regardless whether Canadians want it or not. This is your supremacist attitude; speak non-white or perish.

Did the Conservatives win a majority of votes? Nope. But it is accurate to say that the Conservatives won far more votes than any other party in Canada, several times more than those won by the NDP. The decades go by and by, and the NDP has never won power via the Canadian people. But here is the opportunity to boost the standing the seperatistes, and partnering with a leader that Canadians rejected with historical proportions, with a leader the party faithful do not want.

I guess I speak white and we know that the policy of progressives is to exclude white from rainbow-speak and call it inclusive, just as the Carlton University Student's Association exclusion of white-skinned people is regarded as a blow for inclusiveness. Exactly what George Orwell formulated for Big Brother -- War is Peace, Freedome is Slavery, etc. Canada is going to be progressive whether they voted for it or not.

What a hopeful, wonderful development for all of us progressives who fear for Canada's future with Harper at the helm. My fingers are crossed with hope that the coalition government becomes reality.

With Harper only winning 35% of the vote in the October election, it is plain wrong to say that he "won" the election. Two thirds of Canadians do not support him, they support the parties who developed the Coalition, which would be much more representative of Canadians intentions than the stupid, out-dated dinosaur tory party.

I say bring it on, Canadians will be better off as a result.

To hell with the electorate, it's the House (party politicos) that will decide who governs. The Conservatives increased their vote in the last election. The Liberals are virtually insolvent. The NDP will liplock with traitors to the nation to obtain power. What a noble lot!
