Dion is an idiot. This was demonstrated when the Liberal party earned the most resounding defeat in Canadian history. Canadians spoke and they said Dion was repulsive to them. Combine all the votes that the NDP, Bloc and Conservatives received, and the rejection of Dion in any regard is virtually unanimous. Yep, Dion is the leader of the opposition. I agree completely with Ben's reasoning in his comments about the Bloc. The quest for separation has largely been abandoned, and if Quebecers want to be called a Nation as our current Prime Minister so decreed, that's fine with me. I just want them to remain part of our country, and if they need special status to be content with us Anglos, then so be it.

Can't quarrel with their progressive policies, and especially on poverty issues they have impressed me very much.

Dion's political career is based on his perpetual opposition to the Bloc. Dion received the lowest vote for his party in 100 years. Even his own Party doesn't want him. The legacy of the Liberals has been opposition to a political party that has zero interest in the welfare of Canadians as a whole. What would Trudeau think of his party's legacy. And then we have Trudeau's son approving of the lip-lock with anti-Canadians. And all that Burd can come up with is a single policy initiative to white-wash the Bloc. Of course the Bloc doesn't speak white -- it speaks pur laine, which Burd considers to be palatable. How about consulting the Canadian people whether they want a steady diet of pea soup politricks?
