Yes, of course he's mad. And he has little to lose. Once he fails at the polls ... and he surely will if we vote this fall ... he can always return to the land of academe and write another book. Something like, "Why Canadians fail to get me." David Smith is obviously out of touch with any ordinary Canadians; too comfortable and pompous in the extreme. Iggy and Davey have played into Harper's hands, I fear. Prepare to cast your ballot in November.

Forget the " I don't like this government " stuff, the majority of Canadians can't stomach the government either. The trick will be if Iggy is adroit enough to seize the advantage. And if we're forced into another early election there ought to be stark choices for Canadians to make, and no free rides either.

I am prepared to pour scorn on those who will precipitate an election based on a trumped up excuse and "I don't like this government" is not good enough. How about "vote for me because I will do this "insert idea here" differently from the Tories.

Unfortunately average joe voter, who spends about 30 minutes of political acumen every election cycle will apply the thinking _"Duh who give us a rest from elections?" granting Harper, because he has only offended Libs and other political people, a majority, "After all he hasn't really messed up" unless you are unemployed and 87% of the workforce still have their jobs.
So to Joe Voter let's finish this debate for ever give Harper his majority and leave me alone. Unfortunately the prospect of a Harper majority scares the thinkers and opposition shitless. So I say unless the libs have favourable polls don't go to the polls. But I guess Iggy has drunk the koolaid and will take us down too.

The Liberals must have unbearable heartburn over the dubious propping up of Harper's non-government. At the very least, you might admit it shows some conscience.
