Day 11
Up a little late the van was coming for us at 11am. A big buffet b’fast spread in a modern hotel and then a little walk around the streets. Coming across a police barrier we noticed that the street was lined with little tables filled with artisan’s works, food, clothes, paintings things of all sorts – a local street market. At the end of the street in a square there was a big Flea Market. I could have stayed there all day! But time called and we needed to get back on the van. Hung around a while and took more street pics. The buildings in this City are amazing not just the styles but the number of impressive ones.

At the airport we stood at the end of a long line to check in. This line was only for the three hundred odd passengers on the same plane AirTransat’s counters were very slow and we cleared it in an hour. Onto a quick screening and then into the Entry/Exit System (EES) that the EU has implemented. All visitors into the Schengen Area now have a strict time limit on their visits and it is controlled by passport control. Check in and check out all controlled by a passport databank. Anyway this lineup was a long one too. We barely made it to the Gate to be greeted by another line – this time for boarding. Onto the plane: finally. But as we at there the Captain informed us that there was a passenger in a medical emergency and had to removed. Then another announcement – their bags had to be removed also.

An hour later we took off! Three hours in line and one on the plane – a great amount of time. We are now on our way home.
