The next trip – African Safari with a trip to Egypt

This trip will be two trips in one; an African Safari and a seven day visit to the sights of Cairo, the Pyramids and Luxor and the Valley of the Kings. The African Safari is very structured and arranged through an African Tour Company. The Egyptian visit is an “off the shelf” package tour.

12th Sept: leave Toronto

We will start the trip leaving from Toronto at the ungodly hour on 0045 hrs am and arrive in Cairo at 0530. A respite in a local hotel for 12 hours and we will be back at the airport for a flight to Nairobi at 1145pm to arrive in Nairobi at 0430hrs.

15th Sept: Arrival in Nairobi

Upon your arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be picked up and transferred to the Eka Hotel (B/B) for your overnight stay, with your safari starting the following day.

16th Sept: Arrival in Masai Mara

Be picked up from the hotel and depart for Masai Mara National park with a game drive en route. Arrive later at the Sarova Mara Camp to check in and have lunch. Later, go for an afternoon game drive through the reserve. This corner of Kenya offers the quintessential idea of the African wilderness – glorious sunrises, reddish sunsets, golden plains, dense bush, and the richness of wildlife rarely rivaled anywhere in Kenya. Return for dinner and overnight at the Sarova Mara Game Camp and relax comfortably.

17th Sept Masai Mara

Early morning tea/coffee as you watch the Masai Mara wildlife welcoming the new day. On this day, the driver guide will take you to see the Wildebeest Migration. Every year from Late June to October the Masai Mara plays host to one of the greatest wildlife spectacles on earth. Nothing in East Africa can be compared to the Great Wildebeest Migration as over a million wildebeest and Zebra arrive on the plains to graze. Return later for dinner and overnight at the Sarova Mara Game Camp.

18th Sept: Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, you’ll be driven to Lake Nakuru in time for lunch at Lion Hill Lodge. After lunch, you will have an afternoon game Lion Hill Game Lodge is cleverly laid out in such a way that most rooms and sitting areas afford stunning views of the lake and the park. The Lodge incorporates natural landscaping with tall acacia trees, winding walkways and greens dotted with bird feeds. The Lodge is a natural haven for birdlife and attracts over 50 species of birds among the 400 species that inhabit the Park. Dinner and overnight at Lion Hill Lodge.

19th Sept: Amboseli

After breakfast, head for a morning game drive and then leave the lakes and the famous Amboseli. You can watch the scenery while on the way to the Amboseli Sopa Lodge, where you will stay for 2 nights. Arrive at the lodge with a warm welcome to have your lunch. Afterward, you will go on an afternoon game drive within the reserve. The Amboseli is known for its unforgettable views of Kilimanjaro, abundant population of free-ranging elephants, Wildlife, and rare bird species. Dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

20th Sept: Amboseli

Early morning tea/coffee as you watch the Amboseli wildlife welcoming the new day. Proceed for a morning game drive and come back for a morning breakfast. The driver-guider will take you to track the Big Herds of Elephant families with Mount Kilimanjaro soaring majestically just beyond the golden, acacia-specked savannah. Dinner and overnight at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge.

21st Sept: Arrival in Diani, Mombasa

You will have an early morning tea followed by a short game drive. Afterward, come back to the camp to pick up your stuff and say your goodbyes, and be driven back to Nairobi, to be taken to Wilson Airport to take a scheduled flight to Mombasa. Arrive in Mombasa and the driver will transfer you to the Diani Sea Resort. Diani lies on the south coast of Mombasa and has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Arrive and have lunch, later you can either choose to relax at the resort or go to the sandy beach. Overnight at the Diani Sea Resort (F/B).

22nd Sept: Diani Beach

Spend the whole day at leisure. You can also participate in some activities the resort has to offer like swimming, exploring, sailing, fishing, golf, or taking a marine safari and a whole host of water sports is on offer or simply relaxing on the beach or by the pool. Dinner and overnight at Diani Sea Resort (F/B)

23rd Sept: depart Diani Beach

After breakfast and leisure, you will be driven to the airport to take a flight to JKIA airport for your flight to Cairo.

24th Sept: arrive in Cairo

We will spend three days in Cairo looking at the sights and three days in Luxor. 

1st October: leave for Toronto
