One day after - Thank You
What is left to say? The winners will say they won and the losers will be picking over the chicken's entrails for hints. Manfred will be wondering where he lost the 250 people he needed to win and the "three musketeers - the returning incumbents" won't care much: they won! Meanwhile Miriam and Stan better enjoy their five minutes of fame for topping the polls, it is all hard slogging from here just to make oneself heard. My advice would be to "pick your fights"
In another vein, thanks go to COGECO for having the strength to ask me to appear on the election show. I enjoyed it and managed to ask a couple of questions of the candidates that I am sure they didn't expect. I am not sure if I will be asked back, but thanks anyway.
The writing on this site will of a sporadic nature from now on, due to all of us having other lives. As the saying goes it's been great and I thank you for the feedback.

It is us, the readers of your blog, who should thank YOU.
After all, this is the only source of independent and alternative opinion available to us.
Without you there would only be David Craig!
Thanks very much Ben. Will be looking forward to reading whatever items you have time to post.
Thank you for those kind words, I will try to post whenever the mood or circumstance strikes me. I have also been pleased by the reaction to the Channel 10 show that Dave Glover and I were on. It appears that some of my comments and hard hitting questions took a couple of interviewees by surprise much to the amusement of the audience!
Ben,
We just saw the tape of your COGECO interviews last night and enjoyed them immensely. Poor Gil got quite flustered, and so easily too. His lack of meaningful substance showed and gave the viewers a taste of what's to come. Perhaps our mayor will have to hold those strings much tighter than he would have thought. My loss occured in the voting on-line and by phone. My poll numbers were rather encouraging, beating him in 3 and losing in the "institutional poll" by 11 votes. During my campaign I did get comments like "I wish you had been here sooner, but good luck anyway". That tells me I cwould have swung that vote if it had been at the box. Considering the final votes cast, the voter participation was not significantly affected by the alternative methods other than in "how" they chose to vote. I have my theories on that but that will come later. Most anything I say right now will likely be construed as "sour grapes" anyway. But, it is quite clear that winning glazes the eyes or at least that may be the desired effect. As for any "messages" sent by the voters, those "messages" have already been the victim of the ol' "delete" button. It really doesn't matter to them since they won and have the power to do just exactly as they please for the next 44 months or about 190 open meetings. It may be quite a show at that.
