A thought for the day

A thoughtful look at the coverage of the race down under globeandmail.com: A glaring double standard

I put off reading this editorial because I knew it would upset me, and I was right.

No matter what women do, it's wrong. That never seems to change.

If we work hard at being "nice" then we are seen as exploiting our feminine wiles and being manipulative - but if we work hard at proving our competence, then we are seen as uppity, aggressive and unnatural.

Being sexist is just like being racist - the roots are found in an individual's fear of someone who is different, whatever that difference might be. If you dig deep enough under the hatred you can find it, and it's the real problem we have to overcome.

It's very sad, and does not bode well for the future of the human race, which needs the wisdom of women more than it ever has if we are to survive.

This is from another woman who doesn't know her place (and has no intention of looking for it either).
