Be prepared for a six week election period
Now the G-G has suspended Parliament be prepared for the biggest ad campaigns we have ever seen in electoral history. The Cons have oodles of money, and the others will be playing catchup. It will be interesting to see if there is any thing other than picking up where we left off today. We will be waiting for that but be prepared for lots of nasty ads.

I find the Harper government to be irresponsible beyond belief in preferring to save their own necks instead of providing the leadership the country needs right now to deal with the economy. For the GovGen I am just very disappointed.
What did you expect - a groundbreaking announcement? The easiest way out is always the way to be taken. G-G doesn't have to do much, Harper now will mount a huge election campaign and we will have to put up with more crap in the media - from both sides
It's going to be awful, that's for sure. That tired old phrase about Nero fiddling while Rome burns sure applies to Harper right now.

The Leger poll recently revealed that 70% of Canadians outside Quebec oppose collaboration with the Bloc, but then again, what do fourth place NDPers care about them when they have a sleezy chance to obtain cabinet posts that they did not earn from the electorate.
If 70% of Canadians oppose collaboration with the Bloc, it is only because they are uninformed enough to allow the tories and their friends to brainwash them with tall tales and threats about separatists trying to break up the country.
The tories have done so much damage to relations between Quebec and the rest of Canada it will take years and alot of pain to overcome.
The Quebec bashing that has erupted this week is shameful, yet another example of the Harperites lying outrageously to Canadians to try and save their necks.
Disgusting.

The Quebec issue is nothing more than a red herring.
