One thing I would like to see
In Parliamentary tradition members are not allowed to call each other liars or place misleading statements before the House. Now we know that the PM lied, prevaricated, was irregular with the the truth etc, etc, etc. He told the House that the Coalition was unpatriotic because they signed the bad deed in the absence of a Canadian flag. This was untrue. In this case any member who pointed out the truth would be expelled for explaining that the truth was in fact a lie perpetrated by the PM.
How do we settle this? I think that the Speaker of the House should discipline the PM for lying to the House. But how many of the House will demand this?
None alas.
On another point, here is an open invitation to attend a rally:

Hi Folks
Reminder that you can meet and hear the Ontario (NDP) leadership candidates tonight in Peterborough. An all party rally for democracy has been organized for Peterborough on Saturday at 11:30am at Confederation square (that is right downtown).I will be forwarding more details as soon as I receive the press release. Thanks for coming out yesterday.

It's the economy, not the flag issue, that concerns most Canadians.
The Ekos poll today revealed that support for the Conservatives has gone up, whereas support for the NDP has gone down. Canadians are putting out the message that the NDP is even less relevant than during the recent election. But then again, what do NDPers care about the will of the Canadian people.
More than 4 out 5 Canadians reject the economic policies of the NDP. No wonder Burd is flogging the flag issue as the most significant issue of the moment, and no wonder why the NDP is eroding the remnants of its support.
Keep up the stupidity NDPers.
Please do not trot out the conservative party talking points in an unrelated post. This post is to do with the PM's habit of telling baldfaced lies in the Commons and not being sanctioned for it.
Perhaps all that can be used to rebut this truth are floods of political verbal stupidity directed at your opposition. Keep it up Anonymous and next time use your real name and confirm who we suspect who you are
Oh yes, I forgot that this is a NDPer blog: NO OPINIONS THAT SOUND WHITE PERMITTED. I could care less about Conservative talking points -- I didn't vote for them in the last election. As one of your commentators said; the flag issue is petty.
Do you give commands to others who post anonymously, or only those who sound white?
I'm not convinced he lied. It's only the desperate who make that accusation. I have no interest in providing a lengthy rebuttal about the element of mens rea to edify knee-jerk accusers.
The issue of the alleged flag-lie is no concern to Canadians according to EKOS.
Note Bene: Not a single member of the coalition has the integrity to request the Speaker of the House to discipline the Prime Minister for an alleged lie. How pathetic.
Do you know how foolish this comment is in the greater scheme of things. I am publishing it so that all the readers can see this foolishness as opposed to rational commenting.
Yes that is true, but I have never seen the suggestion in any other reports so far and consequently it may be a figment of my imagination
BTW the comment above relates to the comment about the PM NOT lying when we know he did.
This comment is in answer to the Note to Ben and a good point
If this exchange is any indication, the next few weeks are going to be painful indeed. I just hope there are no fist fights between outraged and overly excitable old white guys who ususally confine their outbursts to hockey games!
Personally I think I will impose a news black out at my home and just listen to glorious Christmas music instead. Pavarotti does a very fine carol.
DJO
Whats difficult with all of this as that all these conservative talking point stupid comments in my head sound like Tom Rittwidge. It may not be him, but it isn't good for him that I relate every single ridiculous partisan idiotic comment with his name.
Norlocks a nice guy too, don't agree with his politics, but I think the community could work with him better if Rittwidge were gone. He just spits out Harpers lies as fast as Harper can himself.
Typical NDPers -- incapable of seeing individuals as individuals. They only see stereotypes in racist and sexist groups. No doubt it was NDPers/left-wingers in the Carlton University Student's Association, who wanted to discontinue charity work for males with white skin.
Obviously NDPer have contempt and hatred for white-skinned people. What a load of self-loathing racism. No wonder 4 out of every 5 Canadians continue to reject NDP policies that are motivated by racial/sexist resentment.
Only dinosaurs continue to evaluate people according to their skin colour, rather than the merits of character or opinion.
Ben Burd" "PM NOT lying when we know he did."
It's fundamental that you speak only for yourself Mr Burd. You need to discontinue your stereotypical fantasy that "we" know he did lie. That sort of we-ism went out with Queen Victoria.
Every poll and election has demonstrated time and again that the NDP agenda will not fly with the Canadian people, so cut the "we" crap and replace it with "us-racist-sexist" that you have clearly demonstrated that you are.
NDPers certainly know how to win over the hearts and minds of
(1) white-skinned people,
(2) males,
(3) old people and
(4) hockey fans.
No wonder the NDP gets no where with such a display of anti-socialist attitudes.
An allegation of a lie is not proof of a lie.
And neither is good for democracy. But I do enjoy that instead of saying the person doesn't sound like Tommy Boy Rittwidge (clearly must agree), you defend the, principle?, of lying
