Yep the Puffster made the list
The list of the lifetime Senate lottery winners is here. One pundit has estimated the cost of a Senator as nearly $850,000 a year, that includes all costs - 18 more what a cost for Democracy. Oh I forgot these folks aren't democratic, they never had to shake a hand or get vote in their lives.

Yes, the elevation of The Puffster is an outrage -especially after Frank Magazine reported a few years back that Duffy had made overatures to have himself awarded the Order Of Canada. Now THAT'S ego. But it's Pamela Wallin that really bugs me. The only memorable thing, journalistically speaking, that she ever did was ask John Turner the unanswerable question 'Do you have a drinking problem?' on national TV. "Unanswerable"? Yes. Because if Turner had said 'yes' it meant he was unelectable. If he said 'no' he would be deemed in denial. The poor guy couldn't win. 'Have you got a drinking problem?' is almost as below-the-belt as 'Have you stopped beating your wife?' No matter how you answer, you lose.
Somebody ought to ask Wallin if she's got a drinking problem. Or if she still beats her elderly mother. Whatever. Her and Dimwit Duffy deserve each other as far as I'm concerned. Let them grow old(er) side by each in the Better Red Than Dead Chamber.
When will Canadians figure out that Harper, like almost all tories, is just another liar who never lets silly things like rules (even the ones he made up) stop him from getting what he wants.
As evidence of that, I offer the rule about fixed election dates and the alleged long standing desire to reform the Senate to an elected body. Finally, didn't he also rail against political patronage and pledge to stop all that?
What he really wants to stop is democracy in this country. That is very clear.
May his dirty and befouled reign be a short one.
