I have kept very quiet about the influence of the Israeli lobby - Bnai Brith, JDL and the Canadian Jewish Congress. Allowing people to voice their opinions about Mid-Eastern affirs is not a matter of taking sides. That is why the BurdReport is apalled by this decision - to bar George Galloway from speaking in Canada. It is obvious to me that this federal Government is taking sides and not only taking sides but doing it with gusto. Jews in, Palestinians out. This story in the Star is only going to get louder.

I have already sent my protest to the state late this morning for this stupid action. I had a close friend of mine who was going to attend and record the talk that this Galloway scumbag was going to deliver.
However, before going off half-baked, here are some details I obtained this morning on the matter. Better to be informed and know what and how to address the issue, instead of doing a simple-minded pirouette of bumper-dumper-sticker intelligence "Jews in, Palestinians out."
This is the email I received (as did others) from Kenney's office:
Yes, George Galloway is legally inadmissible to Canada. If he presents himself at a point of entry to Canada, he will not be admitted to the country. He was deemed legally inadmissible to Canada under s.34(1) of our Immigration Act.

The decision was made by CBSA officials based on s.34(1) of the Act and was based on a number of factors, not only those mentioned in the Sun piece. It was an operational decision; not one taken at the political level.
The Minister of Immigration nevertheless has the legal authority to give someone a "ministerial permit" who is otherwise ineligible to enter to country. The Minister will decline to exercise that discretion. (In the past, he has given "ministerial permits" to individuals facing persecution such as Masoda Younasy, or journalist Jiang Weiping.)

33. The facts that constitute inadmissibility under sections 34 to 37 include facts arising from omissions and, unless otherwise provided, include facts for which there are reasonable grounds to believe that they have occurred, are occurring or may occur.
Security
34. (1) A permanent resident or a foreign national is inadmissible on security grounds for
(a) engaging in an act of espionage or an act of subversion against a democratic government, institution or process as they are understood in Canada;
(b) engaging in or instigating the subversion by force of any government;
(c) engaging in terrorism;
(d) being a danger to the security of Canada;
(e) engaging in acts of violence that would or might endanger the lives or safety of persons in Canada; or
(f) being a member of an organization that there are reasonable grounds to believe engages, has engaged or will engage in acts referred to in paragraph (a), (b) or (c).
Exception
(2) The matters referred to in subsection (1) do not constitute inadmissibility in respect of a permanent resident or a foreign national who satisfies the Minister that their presence in Canada would not be detrimental to the national interest.

I am a free speech advocate regardless of political sides. This particular act against Galloway stinks with the same toxins that motivated the self-appointed self-righteous pious Ms Grundy tut-tuts that gang-swarmed Gilchrist last year.
I don't believe that the operational person who made this decision did so without lots of paperwork stuffed in his file or direction, or perhaps he/she is just bucking for promotion? Despite that for the Minister to hide behind bureaucracy in the face of public outrage is outrage. Unfortunately for him this just reinforces the public perception that jason Kenney is chasing ethnic votes. A few Sikh votes here an lot of Jewish votes there (especially when he threatens to cut off Arab charity work to spite an obnoxious leader who has nothing to do with the charity work). It's just not a fair and balanced playing field and the sooner the federal government comes out and publicly declares what side they are on the better it will be. At least the general public will then know what to make of the situation instead of just assigning slurs and venom to a guy that appears to have deserved it - Jason Kenney.
You need to straighten out your facts Ben. Your ludicrous contention that Kenney is chasing the ethnic vote reveals that you will utilize any old canard; the Jews control governments via their influence groups aka lobby. Read all about it in the Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion.
The Jewish vote? Stats Can reveals that there were 372,000 Jews in Canada in 2005. Compare that with the 2001 census that counted 579,600 Muslims in Canada. The Jewish population in Canada is almost static compared to the growing Muslim population.

If Muslims maintain the same growth rate as the last decade since the census, Muslims today in Canada would number 753,480. (From 2001 to 2003, according to statistics from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, an estimated 132,600 Muslims immigrated to Canada. That’s a rise of 23 percent)
Ontario contains 61% of the entire Muslim population
5% of all Toronto population is Muslims, making Toronto the highest concentration of Muslims in any city in the US or Canada
There are 21 Federal ridings with 7% to 14% Muslim population which can emerge as a major electoral force
If the reason for Kenney's action is to curry favour for the ethnic (Jews) vote as Ben contends, then Kenney is going about it backwards. So maybe there was another reason why Galloway was declined entry into our home.
