The video on your posting has been disengaged for violations. (some Muslim groups troll the net looking for stuff that reflects badly on them, then complain to have it removed. After all, Islam is a religion of peace, according to liars and gullible dupes)
Interestingly, I posted a series of video pieces on women in Iran getting harrassed and beaten on the streets because the fashion police deemed their clothing incorrect. I don't know what poet you are speaking of, but it ain't me.
I have never supported the war in Iraq. Afghanistan is a NATO/UN operation. I have records going back to the early 90s opposing the expansion of NATO and opposing NATO being involved in anything other than defending NATO turf with 100% lethal force.
Neither the people nor govts of the Middle East (save Israel) have ever done anything to benefit Canada in any regard. The lives of young Canadians are far too valuable to waste on such a region.
And just so you will know where my heart and soul really lie: I support the withdrawal of Canadian troops from Afghanistan because the little girls getting a face full of acid because they want to go to school are not worth risking the beautiful complexions of our Canadian youth.
That, Grampa Bill, is where you and I and others concur. Ugly truth, perhaps, but truth just the same. I'm prepared to say it that bluntly; abandon the Afghan women to their fate. Canadians abandoned the Jews to their fate during the holocaust, so why not abandon girls/women to their fate? Just asking.
I don,T know what poet to whom you are referring, but I can say that this poet does not support sending troops halfway around the world to continue 30 years of killing.
