What enrages me is the waste of public funds when so many needs of so many people are unmet.
Thousands upon thousands wait for affordable housing. Adults stuck on welfare, most of them disabled in some way, were insulted by a paltry 2% raise in the rates, and they face reductions to those same rates when the faulty Child Benefit starts paying out monthly, in July '08.
How many are without health care providers in this province? How many can't afford to buy the prescriptions they need?
How many rely on foodbanks to feed their families?
Many of us want to see those needs met, and now! That's where any extra cash should be going, forget making a fancy fountain. We can live without that, but our neighbours can't live without an adequate income and the supports they need.
