The last trip of 2024

Five days in Siena

Four days in Rome

Welcome to our Travel Site

Hope you have as much fun reading this as we did doing it! This site is the result of many years (over 40) of travelling whenever we had the capacity to do so. Often on a whim and whimsical too.

We are still intent on travelling this year although not as extravagantly as last year – a Seven Day Safari in Kenya and another seven days in Cairo and Luxor. This trip will be a whimsical trip – a trip the magical City of Siena to take in the “Palio”.

The Next Trip, five days in Siena Italy and four days in Rome

Yep we are off to Italy again! This time, indulging Ben in a whim. Ever since we visited Siena, for a couple of hours, a few years back (read about that trip here), he has been fascinated by the “Palio” (wiki ref here). This four day event takes place twice a year, July and August. We will be watching the August festivities. Five lazy days observing the locals and sitting around and seeing sights.

Then off to Rome. We have been here a couple of times before but it was always a rush to see the sights. This time we intend to act our ages and sip coffee in the neighbourhoods and enjoy the sun.

Notes from India

We visited India in 2019, twenty odd days covering most of the Northern part of India and Nepal. The piccies in the gallery are a pretty good show of what we saw.
