I’m running because Cobourg needs stable, honest and balanced leadership to overcome division and move us forward with mutual respect and a shared purpose to get our town back on track.  I want to put Town Hall back into the community. Most importantly, I’m running for you, the Cobourg taxpayer, because you deserve a Mayor who is accountable, who respects your money, and who shows up every day focused on results, not politics. I understand how municipal government works, I’ve helped move important projects forward, and I know how to bring people together to get things done. I’m ready to do that work for you, and with you.

I am running for Cobourg Council because I have enjoyed shaping the future of Cobourg over the last 10 years that I have been on Council. There are always things that as a town we will need to navigate and move forward for the future, such as investing in our infrastructure while also trying to maintain affordability for our citizens. I know that as a member of Council I can collaborate with council, staff and the public to accomplish this.

I am committed to strengthening public safety, controlling spending, and working with the County and Province to improve affordability. My focus is on delivering effective, efficient municipal services that support children, families, seniors, and local businesses. Cobourg deserves safe streets, reliable programs, and responsible financial decisions that help ease the day‑to‑day cost pressures residents face. I will work collaboratively with Council and prioritize transparent, practical decision‑making that includes community input that benefits the entire community.

The end of this year will mark ten years as I complete three terms as an elected municipal councillor; two three year terms in Markham and a four year term since 2022 here in Cobourg. Bringing one's age and life experience to bear and collegially discovering the best solution has been my ethos. During my term, I have been Chair of the the Corporate Governance and Finance Standing Committee for two of three years, Chair of Cobourg & District family physician recruitment and now Vice Chair of the county-wide Northumberland Physician Recruitment Committee, Vice Chair Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority, committee member to replace loss of POST Cereals and participating in virtually 100% of all statutory meetings of council. In addition, I receive roughly 20 town-related emails per day related to a Councillor's duties. Last year, I was honoured with the King Charles Coronation Medal for over 50 years of community volunteer service and activism. I want to run again to continue to serve the residents of Cobourg in all matters municipal as we work together to solve the issues and capture the opportunities over the next four years. There is still much to do!

I believe…..in treating people with dignity and respect, in inclusive communities, that housing is a right, that Accessibility for all is the pillar of a strong community, that we have an obligation to provide future generations with clean air, by starting with small changes NOW, in open, honest and transparent leadership. That we are all equal - we all put our pants on the same way, one leg at a time. In asking questions and listening to your answers, in “getting things done”

I believe in working smarter, more efficiently, with respect, to make life in Cobourg better for everyone. Public Safety, Economic Development, Vision and Long Term Planning, Downtown Revitalization…these are not just words, they are real issues that matter to many people and we need leaders who will work together with respect towards creating the environment for success to deal with these issues. I too feel committed to listening to residents and working collaboratively, respectfully together to keep Cobourg a strong, vibrant and welcoming place to live, work and raise a family. I will bring respect, integrity, and transparency to the council for the residents and taxpayers of Cobourg.
