Howcum people who blog and put up vlogs and podcasts on social media always want to put the camera on themselves talking about the action before them?
Surely the idea of using a camera shot is to tell a story with images? Now it is common practice to get a couple of minutes of the vlogger focussing the camera on themselves and telling the story – point the GD camera at the scene not on yourself. The caption on this image was “the narcissism of the vlogger!” and it so true.
It may be just me – ‘old school’ but my journalist friends who defend this practice are wrong. What happened to “Every picture tells a tale?” I don’t really want to watch an obese unshaven man telling us what happened; I want to see what happened.
Am I so unusual on this?
