As noted in a previous post the situation with the Mayor’s perceived autocratic behaviour has obviously become troublesome to more than a few Citizens.

Setting up a petition is a novel idea and we will see if the campaign has legs. Petitions normally land in front of Council by means of written pages of signatures and petitioners need to identify themselves by name and address. This online petition allows signors to leave their names of the public page but presumably stay on file for the organisers to use. Change.org also asks for donations to the cause. Another interesting question will be just how much money will be given to this cause. None is being asked for so the cost to the organiser must be minimal.

Unfortunately I think that the target of this campaign – Mayor Lucas Cleveland – will wear this effort as a badge of honour. We have noticed that he is usually in both victim mode as well as being aggressive to his critics. Wonder what his reaction to this will be?
